I rolled the dice and bought a carbon fiber panel from Ebay and am very satisfied! 1'x2' by 3.5MM. Very sturdy, very glossy, very good weave pattern. I will use this to make my gauge cluster in the Mustang. Should be really awesome! I hope it isn't too hard to work with.
Side note: this shit is really hard to take pictures of with a potato cam....
EXCITED!

Use a diamond cutoff wheel with a Dremel to cut this stuff.
And a dust mask (not optional).
And rubber gloves (carbon dust itches).
You can use a silver-colored Sharpie marker to mark where to cut, since rubbing alcohol will wipe the ink away when you're done cutting.

Thanks for the heads up! I was cutting fiberglass on my buddies Vette this weekend so I know about preventing that itch! I often use a die grinder with a cutoff wheel that should make quick work of this stuff. The small areas are where I worry. Files and sandpaper on standby.

Carbon is so much worse than fiberglass.
Seriously. Strongly recommend you wear long sleeves. I wore a lab coat and gloves when I worked with it in school
I would also work with it somewhere that's pretty well ventilated. You do not want carbon dust lingering

Also good point! The workbench will be setup next to the door with a fan blowing out.

Unnnhhh. I would consider getting something like that just to hang on the wall. I love the look of a carbon fiber weave. Sweet buy.

Not to mention that resin will kill you if you inhale too much of it

VENTILATION IS A MUST WITH A MASK AS WELL. Seriously, carbon is an awesome material to have but to form it to what you want will probably take some years off your life if you don't have the right protection. Hopefully dust can be kept to a minimum because it isn't a lot of carbon fiber. That gauge cluster is going to look badass with the carbon.

Carbon slivers also hurt like a MF. Do be careful.
